About Eric
By day, Eric Owlington is a wildly unsuccessful fisherman, giving him many hours to contemplate both fishy and non-fish related subjects, enjoy misplaced optimism, and explain to his dog why this activity is much more exciting than things like playing ball or chasing squirrels. For his own private reasons, the dog seems to have no apparent interest in either reading or writing. Well, you can't account for tastes. But Eric is ever hopeful that his best friend will one day get the hang of it.
Eric's wife, his most ardent supporter and companion of many years, adores his writing and hopes that one day it might actually pay a few bills, or at least cover a few boxes of Milkbones. The dog seems to agree.
When Eric set out to write the defining philosophical treatise of our age that would finally unravel the meaning of life and the ultimate answer, he somehow ended up with a book about mutants, tentacle monsters, and chainsaw-wielding heroines. This, he insists, is absolutely what the world needs right now.
"But in the end," he says, stroking his beard sagely, "life's too short for bad coffee, boring stories, or taking the world too seriously."
Aki Chainsaw
My Peaceful Life in the Country
Aki Sakamoto just wanted a quiet life. The universe had other plans.
Meet Aki Sakamoto: honor student, lover of science, and owner of the most enviable hair in Bakehama High—until a jealous classmate literally cuts her dreams short. Seeking solace, Aki retreats to her grandparents' rural farm, where she plans to heal, study, and enjoy a little time off before university entrance exams.
Spoiler: It does not go as planned.
After a mysterious plasma storm kills her grandparents, destroys the farm, and mutates the local wildlife into giant, toothy tentacle monsters, Aki does what any sensible teenager would do:
- Arm herself with a chainsaw, a leather vest, and a lot of pluck. (yes, I said, "pluck.")
- Befriend the least murderous tentacle monster
- Team up with her old nemesis, now a tiny woodland creature, to save what's left of humanity

Current Project: Aki Chainsaw
The manuscript is complete! Currently working with editors and preparing for publication. Expect release in fall of 2025.
Upcoming Events
Scheduled events: Likely to get yet another cup of coffee in the near future - maybe even a cookie if there any available!
Behind the Scenes
The world of Aki Chainsaw began as a philosophical thought experiment about survival and human resilience... then tentacle monsters invaded. The characters have been getting up to all sorts of nonsense and are threatening another novel! Honestly, I don't know that I'll be able to stop them in time.
